We believe that LGBTQ+ people are not just welcome, but sacred. Whether you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, intersex, questioning, or beautifully beyond labels—you belong here.
You are holy just as you are.
Our sanctuary was founded because we see a truth the world too often ignores:
Queer people are among the most persecuted in Western society.
And far too many have been hurt in the name of religion.
We exist to help heal that pain.
We are a place of rest, community, and sacred reclamation.
We are here to say clearly:

We are multi-faith, inclusive, trauma-aware, and led by queer people.

Our Mission
Just-As-You-Are Rainbow Sanctuary is a queer-led, multi-faith community in Emporia, Kansas, dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals.
We provide spiritual, emotional, and practical support by offering drop-in hours, peer support, community activities, and trauma-informed care.
Rooted in radical inclusion and mutual aid, we celebrate the sacred worth of every person, honoring diverse spiritual paths and helping our community heal, grow, and thrive.

Drop-in Center Thursdays
Every Thursday 6pm - 9pm
Come by for snacks and drinks, and a community of people happy to talk about anything. We listen, we support each other, talk of current events or of things happening in our lives. We have cards and games and music. If all you want to do is sit and listen, we're happy with that too.
